Principal's Message

Welcome to a new school year at Milor High School and Zupanic Virtual Academy!

It is an honor to begin my eighth school year serving the students and families of Rialto Unified School District at Milor and Zupanic Virtual Academy. This year also marks my 15th year as a school leader and my 21st year in education. I remain a lifelong learner who believes that curiosity keeps us growing. In my spare time, I enjoy studying history, anthropology, and the arts, as well as trying the latest viral foods. So far, pickled anything has been my favorite!

Guided by our district’s motto, “You Belong Here,” we are committed to ensuring that every student feels valued, supported, and prepared for the future. This year, our students with disabilities will strengthen their self-advocacy by taking a more active role in facilitating their own IEP meetings, exploring additional employment opportunities, and practicing self-regulation strategies in our new sensory room.

We are also committed to preparing every senior for life after graduation. Each senior will complete a portfolio designed to help them make informed decisions about college, career, or military pathways. Portfolios will include personal statements for college and scholarship applications, along with evidence of the communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and other soft skills needed to succeed in the workplace.

This year, we are excited to welcome back fourth through eighth-grade students who need long-term independent study to Zupanic Virtual Academy. Throughout the year, these students will participate in age-appropriate, on-campus activities that provide opportunities to develop social skills, build friendships, and collaborate with their peers.

At Milor High School and Zupanic Virtual Academy, we recognize that belonging is more than a motto. It is our commitment to ensuring that every student is known, included, challenged, and prepared to thrive.

This is the year when Every Student Belongs at Milor High School and Zupanic Virtual Academy.

EMAIL MRS. KINGDOM

Hi there! My name is Keira Kingdom, and I am fortunate to support the incredible students, families, and staff at both Milor High School and Zupanic Virtual Academy as Assistant Principal.

I'm thrilled to be beginning my 15th year in education and still wake up excited to come to work each day. My journey in education began with coaching athletics before becoming a science teacher, where I discovered that the best learning happens through curiosity, connection, and a willingness to try something new.

As my career evolved, I found my true calling in alternative education. It has become my passion because I believe success looks different for every student, and my goal is to help each one find the path that fits them best. Whether it's earning a diploma, building confidence, overcoming challenges, or simply finding a place where they feel they belong, every student deserves someone who believes in them.

Outside of school, I'm happiest anywhere outdoors. You'll often find me snowboarding in the winter, exploring hiking trails, camping, or adding another plant to my ever-growing collection. Nature is my happy place, and I try to bring that same sense of curiosity, resilience, and adventure into everything I do. I also cherish spending time with my family, who keep life full of laughter, adventure, and perspective.

I am looking forward to another wonderful year in our school community! Let's go Mustangs and Stars!
